New Purchase

Hello all.

Sorry I have been a bit absent I have been trying to avoid spending money so have been avoiding all shops as I have NO will power not to spend!

Proof of this… after my recent leather love post (which you can see here) I really wanted to find something more cost-effective than the Reiss jacket which I have fallen in love with. I came across this lovely jacket at Warehouse for the bargain price of £55!

It obviously isn’t leather for that price but it’s lovely and soft and has a very nice matte finish.

Fashion fate

You’ve walked down every isle… Looked on every shelf… The shoes that you saw online are not there… They’re just not there! This is so annoying you came especially… They looked like they could be perfect! You see ‘the others’ the ones you saw first but then discarded immediately on sight of the shoes you came for. Might as well try them on you think to yourself. You look for your size… Hang on… Can it be… There is one pair… Just one pair of the shoes you came looking for… Oh and… Oh my god… They’re my size. Your heart skips a little with excitement… You pick them up quickly in case some one else tries to take them from you. You hunt down a mirror… Time to try them on… Please be comfy…oh… Oh oh oh… They… Are… Perfect! YES.
This is Fashion Fate… You have to buy these items… It’s essential!

Oh my god… I was just looking through my friends facebook page as I was planning on doing a post about her as she is a model… her name is Giedre Vaisonoraite. I met her when I worked in Vivienne Westwood, when she left… she left to start her modelling career and I have always kept on eye on her as she is just such a lovely person!

I went to pick some beautiful pictures of her (not difficult) and found out… SHE WAS ON THE CATWALK FOR HONG KONG FASHION WEEK!!!!! I am so so proud of her! So this post is for you girl, WELL DONE!!!

Leather Love

I love all things leather – not really in a kinky fetish way… it just feels more natural to me. I love the feel of it, I love wearing it and I love the styles that are out at the moment.

Happy 200th Birthday Charles Dickens

Charles John Huffam Dickens  was born on 7 February 1812 , he passed away on the 9 June 1870 at the tender age of 58. He was an English novelist, generally considered the greatest of the Victorian period. Dickens enjoyed a wider popularity and fame than had any previous author during his lifetime, and he remains popular, having been responsible for some of English literature’s most iconic novels and characters. For that, the least we can do it wish him a happy birthday!

It was a quote by Freddie Mercury helped name this blog:

I am very fond of the kinder side of Victorian Life and Dickens is a part of that for me. A year still doesn’t go by that I don’t watch or read A Christmas Carol!

A product that works!

This doesn’t happen to me very often these days – most products that I use for the first time I usually find a little disappointing!

Last week… I used a product for the first time and I was genuinely impressed!! My nails leave a lot to be desired… they are fairly strong so they grow well but they are not very smooth so when I paint them they never look as nice as I hope (see previous Chanel post for example)

So when I was looking for new colours I came across a collection 2000 product which is a bargain price of £2.99! It’s a base coat and ridge filler! So I thought I might as well give it a go and see if it makes any difference.

Well I have to admit! I love it! It goes on really easily and is actually a nice colour by itself! But when you paint your new colours over the top they look lovely and smooth and much more professional! I have borrowed this picture from jellyminxthinks.blogspot.com (I haven’t used the top coat so I can’t say anything about that)

Here is the outcome from this morning. The colours are 3 from Bourjois So Laque and are the Ultra Shine Nail Varnish

The purple also has a Revlon glitter top coat which is called Facets of Fuchsia

I would suggest you give it all a go if you don’t already use a smoothing base coat! For £2.99 you might be as blown away they the results as I was!

What would you do on groundhog day?

Hello Everyone – It’s groundhog day today, in the States anyway.

According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day then spring will come early. If it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and the winter weather will continue for six more weeks. It’s sunny where I am, so I guess I might be in for more cold weather.

I was thinking to myself, what would do if you KNEW for a fact anything you did today would be erased and you could live today all over again tomorrow. What would you do that you normally hold yourself back from doing? Would you kiss someone you have a crush on? Quit your job? Take revenge? Eat everything in sight? Exactly how wild do you think you would get? Steal a car?

Now, I am not suggesting you all run off steal cars and quit your jobs, but maybe today just do something that you really really want to do but never have!? Something impulsive! Try not to think about the conseqences and jump straight in with 2 feet! I’ll be honest I can’t promise you a rewind, but it might just lead to something amazing that you never expected!

Besides look at his little face, isn’t he cute… how much trouble could he really get you in!?
